About Me

My career as a Paralegal began in the State of Louisiana. I was given a lifetime commission by the Governor of Louisiana as a Notary,  which empowered me to do many functions that, in California, are restricted to attorneys. My undergraduate work was at McNeese State University of Lake Charles, Louisiana, specializing in Paralegal Studies. Later, I attended The National Center for Paralegal Training, a post-graduate school, in Atlanta, Georgia and received an American Bar Association Accredited Certification.

I was the Senior Supervising Paralegal of the Palo Alto and San Francisco offices of a national law firm that  specialized in the litigation of intellectual properties. Eventually, while working as a paralegal for the Chairman of the Sacramento County Family Bar Association, I realized there was a great need for an alternative to attorney representation. There were many people, who had minor legal issues, who could not afford an attorney, and needed access to the courts. California's answer to that dilemma is qualified, educated Legal Document Assistants, (aka Paralegals) assisting the public in representing themselves.

I opened my home office in Rocklin, CA, Placer County, in 1990, where I have helped many, many couples find an inexpensive, dignified way to dissolve their marriages.  I am now located in Roseville, CA.

From 1990 to 1997, I served on the Board of the Family Law Advisory Committee for Legal Service of Northern California.  Among many purposes, this committee conducted a monthly training for new attorneys in family law. We were recognized by the Family Law Judges as a referral source for Pro Per parties. Our training was approved for MCLE credits.  Through this board, I was recognized as a contributor to the Family Law Training Manual, which was published and used by McGeorge Law School.  During the annual Law Day Dinner of the Sacramento Bar Association, I was a recipient of their Pro Bono Award.

I am also a Certified Mediator through the American Arbitration Association and was a member of the Placer Dispute Resolution Services, a community organization, utilized by the courts and other administration departments. I have found this training very useful in helping my customers reach an agreement on family law matters.
